Over 12 million people each year travel to see the Niagara Falls in all their majestic glory, and there are so many reasons why. In today’s post though, we’ll be focusing on just three. If you thought that the area was only for loved-up couples or stereotypical tourists, then think again. Niagara Falls is the perfect place to play host to your next vacation adventure, and here’s why…
1. It’s a natural phenomenon
First and foremost, who could ignore the fact that Niagara Falls is an icon of natural wonder. Millions of gallons of water crashing down at a ferocious pace every minute, as well as white water rapids and the American and Bridal Veil Falls nestled behind them. Plus, due to their intimidating nature, the Falls have played host to some of the craziest stunts to date. If it’s survivor stories and tales of untimely deaths you like, then you might want to drop by the Daredevil Museum.
The Niagara State Park is actually America’s oldest state park to date too, so for those of you who prefer to read up on the history of an area there’s no better place to be. Over the years it has exploded in popularity, and now there are so many hiking trails, observation decks and attractions that it’s impossible to be bored.
2. Too many tours
Speaking of attractions, it’s hard to know where to start when it comes to tours in the area. Why not begin with the Journey Behind the Falls tour, where you’ll plunge down into the very heart of the Falls so that you can almost reach out and touch them. Or how about a Hornblower boat cruise instead, where you’ll wear a raincoat along with the rest of the crew as you sail right up to this mighty curtain of water.
You might prefer your tours from the air instead, but you still won’t be disappointed. You can either hop into a vintage-style Whirlpool Aerocar, that will offer you the perfect open-air birds-eye view of the rushing rapids, or you can travel in style via a personal helicopter.
3. There’s something for everyone
If you haven’t guessed by now, no matter what your preference you’ll find something you love at Niagara Falls. You might like to relax in your room at the Marriott Niagara Falls hotel with stunning views of the Falls, before heading to the luxurious Serenity Spa. Or how about soaking up the culture of the wine country, with a tour around the award-winning vineyards that Ontario has to offer.
If you’ve brought the kids, you’ll find the Fallsview Indoor Waterpark to be a huge hit with them, before taking them for a walk through the tropical butterfly conservatory over by the Botanical gardens. Or, if it’s nightlife you want, you’ll find a fun-filled carnival atmosphere all year round at the amusement arcades of Clifton Hill.
