Visiting Miami? You should rent a car

There’s little question that Miami is a great place to visit. Whether you’re off on a romantic vacation with your special someone, you’re taking the whole family to enjoy sunshine and then a trip up north for the theme parks, or you’re planning a girls trip complete with cocktails and cute bartenders.

The thing is, when you visit Miami you need a car. Many people assume that they’ll use public transport or taxis to get around, but using Miles Car Rental is a much better option for many different reasons:

When you’re on vacation, the last thing you need is to be constantly waiting around for your Uber or taxi. There are so many things to see and do in Miami and around Florida, and it makes no sense to be trying to navigate public transport or having to continually ring to get picked up.

This is an important point when you have kids. Their little attention spans are as short as they are, meaning moods can quickly disintegrate when they’re waiting for a nap (and a taxi) or are bored while you wait for public transport.

Because you’re more efficient when you’ve hired a car, it’s likely that you’ll find that you don’t really need to stay as long as you thought you did. Since you can come and go as you please, you’re not waiting for someone else to pick you up all the time, and can quickly get from the airport to the hotel and vice versa, along with everywhere else you need to go. If you’re traveling with adults this means you can do more in less time, and if you’re traveling with kids it means the whole family will be in a better mood as you’ll have more time for naps and relaxing.

Because the public transport system isn’t very good in Miami, you’ll probably be using Uber or a taxi if you value your time (see above). However, this can quickly add up and be a pain in the neck, especially if you’re traveling in a big group and need either a shuttle or two taxis.

Sure, Miami is a great place to spend some time (particularly if you like clubbing and lying on the beach), but if you’re there for more than a few days, it’s likely that you’ll want to get out and explore the Everglades, visit Key West, or go up north to Orlando and ride some rollercoasters. Without a car, you’ll need to buy tour tickets and get in a bus with a bunch of other tourists. Not fun.

Try something new

If you drive a minivan every day, and you’ve always wanted a convertible, that weekend away with the girls (or guys) is the ideal opportunity. And if you’re considering expanding your family, maybe you can give the minivan a whirl to see how it feels. When you rent a car in Miami, you have the opportunity to try something new for a change.
