If you’re anything like me, then you’re already planning your next trip away before you’ve even boarded the plane for your current holiday. I love travel and I live and breathe it. I’ve found over the years that investing a little money and effort into making your home more inviting goes a long way to making being home more comfortable and interesting. If you’re wanting to update your home, bring a little of your travels home with you, or simple ways to transform the value of your property, read on.

Work on Your Garden
Your garden may be the most neglected part of your home, but there’s so much value hidden in there. You can make it a place to relax, a playground for your children, a sanctuary to escape the busy working week, you can even pop a pizza oven in there and make it a social area too! No matter what your vision for your garden is, investing some time to make it exactly how you imagine is a great way to destress and increase the value of your home. Bring Travel Home With You
If you’re as obsessed with travel as I am, there are plenty of ways you can bring it home to ensure that you have a part of your travels no matter where you are. While it’s easy to get sucked into the normal tourist trap things – such as a gorgeous lamp from Hoi An in Vietnam and a painted skull from Mexico, consider buying things you need and use in places overseas. I have some gorgeous mugs from Jordan that I treasure, likewise you could buy a functional pashmina in India, some beautiful leather boots in Guatemala – whatever you fancy. Try to buy things that are not gimmicky and that you’ll love for years to come. It’s a fun way to keep the travel dream alive long after returning home.

A Travel Scratch Map

Have you seen those fun travel scratch maps? Basically it’s a world map that you scratch off like a lottery ticket, underneath revealing a bright colour. It’s a fun and interactive way to show off all the places around the world you have been, while giving you inspiration to scratch off more locations around the world.
While most of us can’t afford to travel forever, there are ways to make home feel even more special and to incorporate our adventures into our home!
